Acting Studio for Kids | Off-Off Broadway

Off-Off Broadway became a reality in June of 2008 after years of existing as a mere dream.

Jacque Fuerte, the director, is a professional voice actor locally as well as a second grade school teacher here in the valley. Jacque developed an acting program for kids at the school where she teaches about ten years ago. The program was created to provide children the forum to express themselves creatively, build self-confidence, learn to work as a group toward one goal, build relationships and to just plain have fun! Acting exercises are inherently fun and kids gravitate toward the “pretend” aspect of it all. In addition, it has been said that training for actors is training for humanity. If we can learn to understand people through these activities…we could only become the better for it.

Jacque and her husband Javier, decided to open their own acting school for kids..one that sets itself apart from others. “We wanted to create a place where children could go to relax, express themselves and have fun. We wanted to make it a place where all kids could come to enjoy this art form. As parents ourselves, it was important that our acting studio would be low intensity for the kids as well as the parents.”

After interviewing many parents, the consensus was the same….We want something easy that our kids are excited about. So, with that in mind…Off-Off Broadway was born.
